I know I’ve mentioned this a few times now but I’m completely dumbfounded and baffled by Iowa’s weather this year (It was 57 degrees yesterday). So I was feeling a little skirty, and wanted to take advantage of this weather before it’s gone because it can’t last, right? I mean… we still have 2 full months until it is Spring and sometimes in Iowa that doesn’t mean much.
So as you can tell I have quite the obsession with “The Gap” and “J Crew”. I can’t help it! I love their products!
Basically everything I wear is from those stores and also “Banana Republic”. I also like Anthropology, H&M, Topshop, and Zara, but unfortunately those stores aren’t as readily available to me. Even without those stores, I still know I live in the best city in the world, Des Moines(a mixture of sarcasm and truth).
These are my current fashion obsessions (aka wants). Man, if I only had a few hundred dollars, I would snatch these babies up like nobodies business. Actually, even if I had the extra money, I would wait until they went on sale (I don’t like buying retail prices if I don’t have too).
Layering is my best friend, especially when I’ve had a bad morning. You know the ones I’m talking about, the ones that you wake up late because your alarm didn’t go off, you get toothpaste on your shirt, your make-up isn’t going on right (even though your doing it the EXACT same way like every other morning), your straightener’s heating element randomly decides to goes out (literally just happened to me), your hair isn’t cooperating, and for breakfast you can maybe grab a banana. You know, THOSE kinds of mornings.
One of the many colors that I adore is blue. For some reason, especially lately, I just can’t get enough blue, be it cobalt, heather, sky, baby, turquoise, indigo, sapphire, or teal. I love them all and navy is no exception. Navy is such a classic color and it looks great on everyone. And don’t we all have enough black in our closets? Don’t get me wrong, I also have a strong affection towards black, but if you notice you have too much black in the closet or are regularly grabbing black, give navy a whirl.
An awesome thing about living in the Midwest is that a person can dress for all the seasons without having to worry about being too hot or too cold. Fashion for every season is usually appropriate here (usually). I went on vacation to Florida eariler this month and yes it was beautiful, the temperature was nearly 80 degrees everyday but I really did miss Des Moines. Fashion just wasn’t the same there and I missed my sweaters
Post Christmas day…how are we feeling?! It’s crazy that the holidays are over.
I always feel a little sad, I want the feeling of giddiness, the holiday treats and the Christmas music to last forever! Okay, maybe not really….but kinda. Anywho, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas filled with family, love, food, and some cool stuff. Perhaps even a scarf…speaking of which….
Okay, So here I am. I’m doing this thanng. For a while now I have wanted to start a blog featuring all the things that inspire me in my life. ( Fashion, Baking, Design) I realized a while ago that I couldn’t be in a profession or a job that didn’t allow me to be creative so until then, this will be my little creative outlet.
